I would like in inquire on why we seem to be the only High School around that does not support a booster club, that would benefit our student athletes? You would think with economy getting tight and the budget cuts our school district is having to make, we as a community could supplement these budget decreases by increasing booster clubs before our student athletes decline the opportunity to not play high school sports due to lack of funds. Making students or their parents work a little to decrease their's and school's cost seems more logical to me then to see students dropout and end up on the street. Just as an example of what I have seen or noticed since I have been involved with Lompoc sports, for instance we went to the SLO Vs Lompoc football game last year and they were selling shirts, hats, blankets, etc., it just seemed as if there was so much stuff going on almost like a college game. Then look at our homecoming game, it was so dead kind of embarrassing, I just think we should do more to be proud of when other teams walk into our stadiums.
