After the first meet of the season, at home against the Atascadero Greyhounds, Coach Kevin Hicks was generally upbeat about the Braves performance. There were only 15 (11 varsity/4 JV) boys available to swim. Carl Thacker had a win in the 100 Free (56.50), and several other had 2nd's & 3rd's.

The boys varsity swim team gave the Pirates a run for their money before falling 97-72 at Santa Ynez.

Braves wins:
Carl Thacker - 200 yard freestyle,
Robert Macias - 100 yard butterfly & 100 yard backstroke
Taylor Emery - 100 yard breaststroke
The Braves team also won the 200 yard medley relay

Other place finishes:
Michael Ostrander - 2nd
Josh Menezes - 2nd
Myles Helmland - 3rd

Once again both the varsity and J.V. boys swim teams had personal bests in all events.
