The Braves won both games of a double-header at Channel Islands on Saturday. In the opener, starting pitcher Cody Berryman gave up 3 hits and a run in seven strong innings, allowing just one walk & striking out six. He also helped himself at the plate, going 2-3 with a double, and both scored and drove in a run. Lompoc had 3 doubles, 6 RBI, and had seven different players score in the 7-1 victory. Daniel Dunaetz closed in fine fashion - allowing one hit while striking out two in two innings. Stats
So, how do you follow a blowout ? How about with a bigger blowout ? Exactly what the Braves did - downing the Raiders 9-1. Stats Apparently, if you let them pitch - they play well. Ryan Bower took the mound and delivered a 7 inning, complete game. He gave up 1 run and 3 hits, while fanning 13 and walking none. In addition, he went 2-2, with a double and RBI, and stole a base. Lompoc had 9 runs on 9 hits, 8 RBI, and 4 doubles.
Combined output: 16 runs, 20 hits, 14 RBI, 7 Doubles, 5 stolen bases, and only 5 strikeouts. 1st game - avg. .367 /slg .467 , 2nd game - avg .290 / slg .419 .
