It was a great day for baseball at George Meyer Field on Saturday. The weather was good, the barbeque was better (and sold out), and there were three competitive games.
The Medics topped the Elks 6-4 in the opener, the Chem Kids outlasted the American Legion 16-15, and V & J rebounded from a 4-1 deficit to defeat the Raiders 5-4. The late Bill Vance, the V of V & J, sure would have enjoyed it.

Monday
Medics 4, Chem Kids 3 [8 Innings] The Meds were down 3-0 through 6 and rallied to win. They were keyed by Michael Woodard's 1st hit - a triple.
American Legion 9, V & J 5
Tuesday
Medics 5, Tom's 1 [6 Innings] The Meds came from behind - again. Cole Osborne threw a complete game 3-hitter, allowing 1 unearned run, in a game shortened by impending darkness and some light rain. Michael Woodard's RBI double in the top of the 4th tied the game after Tom's manufactured a run in the bottom of the first.
In the 5th, Tom's starter Holden Bohannon swaped places with shortstop Wren Greathouse. Luke Ybarra reached base, stole second, and scored on Freddy Fields single - Fields advancing to 2nd on the throw home. He then scored after a passed ball and a wild pitch. Marco Wray had a 2-run double in the sixth.
And despite having 20 tickets, Geore Mayer was edged out in the 50-50 drawing.
